The Brief
Akovi had the vision: to be recognised as the go-to comms agency for the Black diaspora, trusted across Africa, the Caribbean, and beyond. Vivienne wanted to attract clients who truly valued diverse audiences (not as a trend, but as a long-term commitment) and to be seen as an authoritative leader in travel, culture, and PR.
But the challenge? Her brand identity didn’t yet reflect that ambition. She needed a visual language that was both corporate and culturally attuned, serious enough for boardrooms without lacking personality.
The Process
Because of our long-standing relationship, Vivienne came to Kenzi Studio knowing I "just get it". We’ve built trust through years of collaboration, which meant I could go beyond surface design choices and craft something strategic and rooted in her story.
The creative direction balanced professionalism with edge. Instead of chasing loudness, I leaned into refinement, choosing clean, confident typography and a bold & clean colour palette that spoke to both corporate authority and diasporic richness. Every detail worked together to position Akovi as clever, business-focused, and culturally relevant.
The Outcome
With their refreshed identity, Akovi Comms now has the visual presence to match their ambition. The brand identity & website communicates authority without being stiff, and creativity without being performative. This helps them stand out as a trusted PR partner for change-makers who want results, not just hype.
Don't take my word for it...
"This is my second time working with Rayanna and, just like the first time, she exceeded my expectations. She was able to bring my vision to life (which was to have a corporate feel with a burst of personality) and that translated perfectly into the visual feel of the brand. Before I had my branding for Akovi, my brand was invisible. I was working behind the scenes with my clients and I didn’t feel prepared to speak about my agency to the world. The moment I had my visuals and my website, I felt more confident going into spaces to talk about my brand, which ultimately led to more conversations, more discovery calls, and more bookings."
